Born in Queens, Sophie has lived in NYC since 2000, and sees herself as a lifelong advocate of city arts and culture. She holds extensive experience in the nonprofit arts and media sector as a researcher, online editor, front-end web developer, and multimedia producer. Before joining LMCC full-time in 2018, Sophie worked with LMCC in numerous capacities as a consultant and designer.
Sophie holds an M.A from the New School in Media Studies, and a B.A. and Ed.D in Communications from Columbia University. She has also performed as an electronic musician and vocalist with various ensembles at The New Museum, Le Poisson Rouge, MoMA PS1, Issue Project Room, The Stone, and other venues. She sits on the Steering Committee of Columbia Arts Access, the alumni arts organization of Columbia University.
Sophie oversees marketing, communications, and public relations.
