Originally from Tunja, Colombia, Lina M. Alfonso Gutiérrez is a passionate advocate of emerging artists and experimental practices. She firmly believes that artists are vital for our city’s cultural, social and economic wellbeing, and is thrilled to be part of LMCC—an organization that is highly committed to supporting their practice! Prior to joining LMCC, Lina served as the Program and Operations Manager at Art in General. Lina is a 2019 Innovative Cultural Advocacy (ICA) Fellow from the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI), a 2020 Advocacy Leadership Institute (ALI) Fellow from the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC), and 2023 CORO Neighborhood Leadership Program alumnus. Lina has served as a grant panelist for City Parks Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), New York City’s Department for Cultural Affairs (DCLA), the National Association of Latino Arts & Culture (NALAC), and the Awesome Foundation New York City’s chapter. Lina received undergraduate degrees in Visual Arts and Economics from Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia; and a M.A in Arts Administration from Columbia University, New York.
Lina oversees planning and programming of LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants, Artist Residencies and Professional Development offerings. Lina también habla español.
