LMCC’s longest-running residency program, Workspace, is a nine-month studio based residency that fosters the creative process and professional development of artists.

This year, LMCC will regrant more than $1.6 million to 286 Manhattan-based artists, groups, and nonprofit organizations through our Creative Engagement, Creative Learning, and UMEZ Arts Engagement grant programs. 

The Downtown Dinner is April 15!

The Downtown Dinner returns at The Conrad Hotel on April 15, 2024, honoring Bill T. Jones with the Liberty Award for Artistic Leadership. Join us in celebrating LMCC's Golden Anniversary as Manhattan's Arts Council! The evening will feature a guest performance by The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company. Stay tuned for ticket sales, program announcements, and further details.

Party as Performance Series

This spring, party with LMCC!

Celebrate with us as we mark LMCC’s 50th anniversary as Manhattan’s Arts Council and our legacy of fostering vibrant creative communities! You're invited to Party as Performance, a series of special gatherings at The Arts Center at Governors Island, taking place in March, May, and June! Each event is hosted by LMCC alumni artists and offers a unique atmosphere, energy, and community, all delving into themes of Practice, Process, and Participation. Tickets are free and open to all.

Celebrating 50 Years of LMCC

This year LMCC celebrates its Golden Anniversary with you, our circle of artists, supporters, and friends! Save the date for our 50th anniversary gala at the Conrad on April 15th! And because one party isn’t enough to mark 50 years of building creative communities from March to June, we’re throwing a series of festivities featuring artists and alumni from our community, showcasing what we love to do - celebrating the art of gathering!
