Hilarie Spangler is a multi-instrumentalist, teaching artist and arts producer based in New York City. In her work, she actively uses her background as a musician and storyteller to explore authentic, collaborative, and musical community experiences. Her work and interests are deeply rooted in the connection between rural-urban relationships and community healing. From 2018-2022, Hilarie served as the co-founding artistic director of Cardinal Cross Arts Collective: as a, betwixt-and-between team of misfit female-identifying creative artists. Her strength lies in public programming and imagining activities and events in non-traditional spaces. She is an active teaching artist and has held workshops at The International Storytelling Center, in addition to being on faculty at Brooklyn Music Factory. Hilarie has a deep dedication to community-based arts and discussion and is thrilled to join the LMCC team to continue exploring the power of community in NYC arts spaces.
