LES Daytime Movement Workshops
June 23 - Participate in a full day of free, movement-based activities and festivities on the East River Waterfront!
Daytime program at East River Esplanade at Rutgers Slip (underneath FDR), 10:30am–4pm
Get active and celebrate waterfront wellness with free dance and movement workshops. Organized by Friends of Pier 35.
10:30–11:30am: Cardio, Dance & Sweat. Latin, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lindy Hop, Jazz Funk and more.
12–1pm: Tai Chi Workshop. Enjoy a demonstration of Qi Gong exercises by New York Yang Sheng Tai Chi Qi Gong Corporation and then join in with beginner level instruction in Ba Duan Jin (eight excellent movements). Its movements are simple and easy to learn, and bring about good results in health building.
1:30–2:30pm: Boxing/Self Defense, technique-driven class that will challenge your mental and physical toughness. All are welcome.
3–4pm: MOVING FOR LIFE Workshop. DanceExercise for Health® classes are gentle aerobic workouts with added strengthening and flexibility components. The class is adaptable to each participant so that they can engage in safe exercise. Experience renewed mental and physical well-being through moving to music!
All workshops are free and open to the public.
