Martha Nelson + Madison McCartha we thought we would be sheltered in the US but we weren’t immune as a global epicenter a new york collectivity doesn't surprise me given 9/11 it isn’t a surprise when isolation forms a pact around the daily connection i’m not a native to new york even though i’ve lived here for 20 years we exchange a nonverbal solidarity i’d never want to infect / a small gesture or a critical health emergency in my family when Governor Cuomo directs us to give what we can to move forward i see compassion in Republicans wearing the mask of returning to normal and the more we do that the more we erase Judith Modrak + Madison McCartha
