On June 10 and 11, a rare constellation of seventeen artists share performances, practices, and journeys through the cityscape for one audience member at a time in Lotto Royale, a performance lottery of one-on-one encounters.

Performances by luciana achugar, Lauren Bakst, Amelia Bande, Raha Behnam, mayfield brooks, Moriah Evans, Julia Gladstone, Nile Harris, Niall Jones, Jennifer Monson, Elliot Reed, Alex Rodabaugh, nibia pastrana santiago, Keioui Keijaun Thomas, ms. z tye, Mariana Valencia, and Anh Vo.

Instead of reserving a ticket to see a particular artist’s work, Lotto Royale audience members reserve performance timeslots. Upon arriving at The South Street Seaport Museum, each individual audience member is paired through a lottery with an artist for a one-on-one performance (one artist and one audience member). The artist and audience member then travel to a nearby site in public space to experience the performance.

Conceived and developed by the artist Camila Malenchini in collaboration with Layton Lachman and the collective T.E.N.T., Lotto Royale was first presented in Berlin in August 2022 with performances by Berlin-based artists. For the River To River Festival, Lotto Royale presents performances by New York–based artists.
