“Isle of Klezbos: Roots & Fruits! A Musical Harvest” will feature soulful, fun-loving all-gal powerhouse sextet Isle of Klezbos, queer-friendly performers embracing an expansive range of music including traditional and surprising Yiddish-rooted repertoire. Weather permitting, Isle of Klezbos shall return to El Sol Brillante Community Garden — site of many KlezBiGay Pride celebrations by the band in past years — on East 12th Street in the heart of the East Village. The program will include selections from the group’s original compositions as well (even cameos from “J. Edgar Klezmer: Songs from My Grandmother’s FBI Files,” the musical documentary theater work by bandleader/drummer Eve Sicular). Additional performers: Debra Kreisberg, clarinet & saxophone; Pam Fleming, trumpet & flugelhorn; Melissa Fogarty, vocals; Shoko Nagai, accordion; Saskia Lane, double bass.
