On June 10 and 11, a rare constellation of seventeen artists share performances, practices, and journeys through the cityscape for one audience member at a time in Lotto Royale, a performance lottery of one-on-one encounters.

Performances by luciana achugar, Lauren Bakst, Amelia Bande, Raha Behnam, mayfield brooks, Moriah Evans, Julia Gladstone, Nile Harris, Niall Jones, Jennifer Monson, Elliot Reed, Alex Rodabaugh, nibia pastrana santiago, Keioui Keijaun Thomas, ms. z tye, Mariana Valencia, and Anh Vo.

Instead of reserving a ticket to see a particular artist’s work, Lotto Royale audience members reserve performance timeslots. Upon arriving at The South Street Seaport Museum, each individual audience member is paired through a lottery with an artist for a one-on-one performance (one artist and one audience member). The artist and audience member then travel to a nearby site in public space to experience the performance.

Conceived and developed by the artist Camila Malenchini in collaboration with Layton Lachman and the collective T.E.N.T., Lotto Royale was first presented in Berlin in August 2022 with performances by Berlin-based artists. For the River To River Festival, Lotto Royale presents performances by New York–based artists.

Artist curation by Camila Malenchini, Layton Lachman, and John Hoobyar. Hosted by Louise Trueheart, Ivanka Tramp, Camila Malenchini, and Layton Lachman.

Lotto Royale was guest-curated and produced for the River To River Festival by John Hoobyar.

Profoundly attached to the world of dance since its origins, the High Jewelry Maison strengthens its commitment with Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels

Guided by the values of creation, transmission and education, this initiative aims to support artists and institutions in presenting choreographic heritage, while also promoting new productions.

Since its launch in 2020, it has promoted numerous dance companies for their creations as well as the presentation of multiple performances around the world.

The program is complemented each year by major events, including the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival, whose first edition took place in London in March 2022.

This support further extends to awareness-raising actions focused on dance culture for the broadest possible audience, professionals and amateurs alike.

The South Street Seaport Museum, located in the heart of the historic seaport district in New York City, preserves and interprets the history of New York as a great port city. Founded in 1967, the Museum houses an extensive collection of works of art and artifacts, a maritime reference library, exhibition galleries and education spaces, working 19th century print shops, and an active fleet of historic vessels that all work to tell the story of “Where New York Begins.” seaportmuseum.org
