“Since I discovered grant funding, I have been in constant search for walls and community partners in my neighborhood to create more public art that involves the community. In 2020, as an LMCC grantee, I was able to create a mural to cheer up New Yorkers. Art is a powerful tool for inspiration, education, reflection, appreciation, connection and understanding. It opens minds and hearts. LMCC will guide you the best way they can as you apply to their programs. Just pour your heart and soul on your project, and go for it!”

– Carla Torres, 2021 Creative Engagement & UMEZ Arts Engagement Grantee

With energizing summer activities radiating across Manhattan’s neighborhoods, we are pleased to announce the launch of the 2022 program guidelines and application forms for LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants: Creative EngagementCreative Learningand UMEZ Arts Engagement.

Three Programs, One Deadline: Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 5:00pm (EST)

In 2021, LMCC awarded over $1.3 million to 284 individual artists, collectives, and organizations to deepen our community ties and help sustain our sense of connection and hope throughout the challenges of this year. Our 2021 grantees continue to create necessary paths for grief, healing, joy and celebration, and we look forward to meeting more artists and arts groups this summer interested in connecting with their local communities and creating engaging artistic experiences for the public, in person and online in 2022. We welcome Manhattan-based artists, collectives, and organizations across artistic disciplines, practices, and backgrounds to apply to a Manhattan Arts Grants program for your 2022 project.

Additionally, we encourage New York City based individual artists to apply to the City Artist Corps program this summer. LMCC is proud to join the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and more than a dozen cultural organizations in expanding our reach and resources to ensure artists disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 receive these one-time $5,000 grants.

Throughout the summer, we will offer a full schedule of virtual information sessions and Fundraising Fundamentals workshops to share advice on preparing your strongest application, answer your questions, and brush up on your fundraising skills. New applicants to LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants are required to attend an interactive information session webinar before applying.

We look forward to seeing you soon and learning more about your projects! Please do spread the word to anyone you think may be interested in applying.
