DD18 Treatment

Thank you so much for supporting LMCC and The Downtown Dinner 2018, which we hosted on May 17th at The Conrad New York.

Each year The Downtown Dinner enables LMCC to raise critical funds to support our mission to provide multifaceted support directly to artists through grants, free studio space, and professional training, as well as free-to-the-public arts and cultural programming.

Almost 600 people joined us to honor the cultural and artistic leadership of Stephanie and Tim Ingrassia, Julie Mehretu, and LMCC alumni artists Will Rawls (Sam Miller Award for Performing Arts), Melissa Febos (Sarah Verdone Writing Award), and Matthew Jensen (Michael Richards Award for Visual Arts), and salute the leadership of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Together, we witnessed brilliant performances by Pilobolus and Ben and Michael Arthur; a rousing speech from Kamau Ware; and the commemoration of Sam Miller, former LMCC President and an arts vanguard, through his friends and colleagues Ralph Lemon and Sarah Michelson.

With your help, we raised over $1.1 million toward our work to support artists through residencies, grants, professional development, and public presentations.

We celebrated our new executive directors, Lili Chopra (Artistic Programs) and Diego Segalini (Finance & Administration) and their vision for our expanded Arts Center on Governors Island, opening in 2019.

Thank you again for your support and we look forward to seeing you at our River To River Festival this coming June!
