How am I coping? / I’ve been awake for so long / my leisure time and work time blur / I’ve read that new activities do something to time in your brain / stretching it out / and here I am still in Virginia / in the suburbs with my parents thought I’d be out here for two weeks / while some friends from our office completely moved out of New York City / I don’t think they ever saw New York as their home / some are really embracing their new lives as spouses and parents / my friends and I just graduated from college in 2019 / and already a few of them seem like they’ve outgrown New York, they’re older, trying to settle down / the pandemic brings on a new chapter / a pivot to change our lives for the better Susie Lee + Madison McCartha
