LMCC Appoints Moe Yousuf as President & CEO
LMCC is pleased to announce the appointment of Moe Yousuf as our next President & CEO, who will guide the organization through it's next chapter of growth, creative partnerships, and community impact.
Yousuf has served as Interim President & CEO since December 2024, guiding the organization through a period of crucial transformation and strategic institutional planning.
An artist, curator, and producer with over 15 years of leadership experience, Yousuf brings a unique perspective to the role. As a producer, his work has included numerous New York Times Critics’ Picks, and he has held senior leadership positions at two OBIE Award-winning organizations, serving as Managing Director of Abrons Arts Center and Associate Artistic Director of Target Margin Theater.
“I’m not your typical arts leader, and that’s why I’m so honored to take on this role at LMCC,” said Yousuf. “I come to it as an artist myself, but also as someone who has run organizations and studied how systems work and how ideas move from vision to reality. I think of artmaking, strategy, and leadership as part of the same circle, and that combination is what really draws me to LMCC. It’s an institution that for five decades and more has brought artists into dialogue with the life of this city, across neighborhoods, business, government, and the public. Its legacy of bold programs and partnerships is really extraordinary, and I’m excited to build on that and continue to redefine the role and impact that LMCC will have in Manhattan and across New York. Artists not only shape culture, they help define the future we share, and I’m proud to lead an organization that puts them at the center of that vision.”
As a curator, Yousuf centers interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and city-wide partnerships that make art accessible to all. His relationship with LMCC began as a grantee, providing him with firsthand insight into the challenges facing artists in New York and the unique opportunities that LMCC offers. Yousuf, who recently completed his MBA at Columbia Business School, combines artistic vision with strategic and organizational expertise, solidifying him as a forward-thinking leader and timely choice for LMCC. Yousuf’s work is already underway, activating a dual skill set which positions the organization to navigate rapidly evolving challenges facing the arts nonprofit landscape today.
Yousuf’s leadership and the programmatic direction of LMCC in 2026 reflect a belief in the power of art to shape more equitable and imaginative urban futures—and affirm the organization’s commitment to supporting artists as catalysts and agents of change in New York City and beyond
