Brooks finds themselves stuck in a Quarantine Hotel, cut off from their best-laid plans and the strange and dramatic events happening beyond the hotel’s walls. The only human interaction the reluctant hotel “guests” can rely on is the routine daily check-up with Nurse Vesper Ferdinand, a non-binary poet and cat-parent who -dreams of a life beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.

Plant Wisdom
Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 12:30 PM
M’Finda Kalunga Garden, 179 Chrystie Street, New York, NY 10002

“Plant Wisdom” is a cyanotype and book-making workshop that records plant wisdom and healing remedies. Participants take home their own garden journals.

Gather for this drop-in hands-on workshop on June 3rd from 11am to 2pm at M’Finda Kalunga, the garden on the edge of the world, to create cyanotype images with plant wisdom from a healing habitat.

Together we will identify botanical remedies, share healing memories and create cyanotypes of ingredients inspired by these stories. This photographic printing process uses a mixture of iron compounds, which when exposed to UV light and washed in water, oxidizes and creates prussian blue images. We will use this content to produce garden journals and share stories of healing properties of communal lore.”

On June 9, the Signature Spring concert, Eternal Light: A requiem, a collaborative work of orchestra, choir, soloists and dance will take place in the church space At a time that experienced so much pain and losses, words were hard to find to express the feeling sufficiently.  We hope this work can help to express what cannot be told with words and bring the community together with a sense of peace and consolation. This work differs from the traditional form of requiem in that it does not convey condemnation but to impart hope and comfort.  We hope that can be felt by the community.
