Join a fun and interactive dance workshop for everyone. Learn the BrainDance, a unique exercise that supports the reorganization of the neurological system and increases blood and oxygen flow to the respiratory system and brain. Dance with props while exploring dance concepts and building movement skills. Through dance and music, connecting and collaborating, this fun-filled workshop strengthens the mind and body while celebrating personal creativity and individual artistry. All ages welcome!
Dionne Kamara (she/her), a former Urban Bush Women performance company member, is currently a resident teaching artist in New York City. Dionne teaches creative dance that is integrated into the academic curriculum for children in public school, enabling them to express their thoughts and ideas through the art of dance. She has taught creative and traditional West African dance in schools, community centers, and cultural institutions in the New York metropolitan area for many years. Dionne also teaches creative dance to people of all ages from infants to adults in several NYC studios.
