“Applying for a Creative Engagement grant not only helped us create our project, but it also helped us improve how we apply for grants. The fundraising workshops were extremely helpful. There we acquired plenty of knowledge of grant planning and applications. All along the Creative Engagement team were very communicative, helped with every question and guided us through the process.”

If you are an artist, arts group or arts or community organization seeking funding for an upcoming project, add a Manhattan Arts Grants information session and a Fundraising Fundamental workshop (or three), to your calendar this summer.

Brush up on your fundraising skills at this summer’s Fundraising Fundamentals workshops which will cover project budgeting, selecting the best work samples for your proposal, and grantwriting basics for artists. Attending these workshops can help you gain valuable skills regardless of whether you are applying to our grant programs this year or not. Presented in partnership with Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center and Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance.

Information sessions begin next week and are a great opportunity to hear specific application advice from LMCC’s staff and ask questions about our grant programs: Creative Engagement, Creative Learning, and UMEZ Arts Engagement. Unsure which information session to attend? Use our Eligibility Quiz to help determine which program you are eligible for and then review our full information session schedule to find one near you.

Remember, the deadline to apply for our Manhattan Arts Grants is September 10, 2019, and attendance at an information session is required for first-time applicants and returning applicants who have not attended an information session in 2016 or later.

We look forward to seeing you at an event in the next few weeks and please let others know about these opportunities!
