Director of Individual Giving
This role is ideal for an adaptable fundraising professional with a "no task too big or too small" mentality and a background in project management. The ideal candidate will combine strong writing skills and a track record of successful grant management with the operational rigor necessary to act as a project lead, ensuring the team meets its financial goals.
- Project & Workflow Leadership: Serve as the central project manager for the Development department, maintaining the comprehensive master calendar for all institutional grants, individual appeals, and special events with an eye toward improving coordination and efficiency.
- Database Support: Work with Development Assistant to maintain CRM (Salesforce); support gift processing, acknowledgment workflows, and data hygiene. Work with the development team to generate regular fundraising reports and dashboards to track progress against annual goals.
- Cross-Departmental Liaison: Act as a bridge between Development and other departments (Programs, Finance, Communications) to ensure a cohesive flow of information.
- Process Improvement: Work with the Directors of Individual and Institutional Giving to evaluate and refine internal systems for donor tracking, moves management, and inter-departmental communication to increase efficiency.
- Grant Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of institutional support, from initial research and tracking deadlines to the final submission of proposals and reports. Act as project manager to coordinate cross departmentally with Program and Finance teams to gather necessary data, budgets, and project updates in a timely manner.
- Writing & Editing: Work with the Director of Institutional Giving to draft and edit compelling grant narratives, LOIs, and stewardship reports.
- Compliance: Work with the programming team to ensure all grant-related requirements are met, including credit line fulfillment, final reporting, crediting, and project tracking.
- Appeal Coordination: Work with the Director of Individual giving to manage the execution of annual appeals, digital fundraising campaigns, and direct mailings, including list segmentation and coordinating with mail houses or printers.
- Solicitation Support: Assist the Director of Institutional Giving and LMCC leadership in preparing briefing materials, pitch decks, and personalized outreach for individual donor solicitations.
- Donor Stewardship: Ensure high-touch stewardship for individual donors, managing the fulfillment of membership benefits and coordinating donor cultivation touchpoints.
- Cultivation Events: Support the execution of cultivation events, including LMCC’s annual Gala, through RSVP management, coordination, and on-site assistance.
- Pipeline Strategy: Proactively manage and build the organization’s prospect list. Identify new foundation, corporate, and individual prospects using research tools.
- Moves Management: Track prospect engagement in Salesforce, ensuring that "next steps" for potential donors are scheduled and assigned to the appropriate solicitor.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in grant writing and/or Development Operations, preferably with a cultural institution, or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent organizational and verbal skills, and facility with budgets. Ability to compile, report and analyze information succinctly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizing work and managing multiple, diverse, and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to interface with program officers, community leaders, politicians, and business professionals. Knowledge of the NYC funding community is a plus.
- Proficiency using Google Workplace, Microsoft Office, especially with Excel.
- Knowledge of Salesforce and/or other CRM systems and fundraising platforms.
- Passion for the arts and culture sector.

Senior Development Manager
LMCC seeks a full-time Senior Development Manager to serve as a key system-oriented project lead in a high-impact development department. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, this role acts as a project manager and strategic partner to support the execution of fundraising activities across Institutional and Individual priorities. We maintain a hybrid work schedule, generally requiring Tuesday & Thursday in-office at the Arts Center at Governors Island with remote work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is an exempt position and will require night and weekend availability.

LMCC’s Internship program provides meaningful opportunities for individuals interested in the arts and culture sector, from the perspective of a leading non-profit organization in New York City. LMCC connects you to a robust network of professional connections and gives you the hands-on experience you need for a curious professional looking to make a career transition, our 20-person staff is ready to share their experience with you.
LMCC’s Internship program offers year-long and summer/winter internship opportunities for interns to gain an in-depth experience at the organization. Interns choose an internship focus to pursue under the guidance of a staff member, while gaining exposure to all departments in our collaborative-minded office.
During the program, all interns receive a monthly participation honorarium of $250, along with a monthly travel stipend of $150 and monthly meal stipend of $100. Interns also have access to a professional development reimbursement fund of up to $100 throughout their internship. All internships are structured at 16 - 24 hours per week, including supporting our evening and weekend events. The start/end dates of the program are flexible and should be agreed upon between the intern and their supervisor prior to the start of the internship.
