On April 27, we gathered for the 2026 Downtown Dinner to honor the exceptional leadership of filmmaker Linda Genereux & Timur Galen, LMCC Board Chair Emeritus; Julie Menin, Speaker of the NYC Council; Jack Shainman, Founder and Principal, Jack Shainman Gallery, and artist Carlos Vega; and Grammy Award-winning musician and educator esperanza spalding. Alongside our Liberty Award Winners, we celebrated the contributions of LMCC Alumni Artists Chloë Bass, Moriah Evans, and Normandy Sherwood to visual arts, performance, and writing.
The Downtown Dinner brings together hundreds of New York City's most important business, civic, and cultural leaders support our vibrant, resilient arts ecosystem.

The 2026 Artist Alumni Silent Auction
The Artist Alumni Silent Auction was a unique opportunity to purchase original artworks by groundbreaking artists, while supporting LMCC’s mission to build an equitable arts ecosystem through grants, residencies, and free public programs across Manhattan and Governors Island.
This year’s auction featured 25 original works created by NYC artists who participated in LMCC's programs spanning from 1997–2025. All 25 unique works on paper were on display at The Downtown Dinner. Bidding is now closed, and we will be following up with winning bidders directly.
