unnamed

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 program guidelines and application forms for LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants: Creative EngagementCreative Learning, and UMEZ Arts Engagement.

Deadline: Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 5:00pm (EST)

In 2022, LMCC awarded over $1.3 million to 255 individual artists, collectives, and organizations to energize our neighborhoods and strengthen our social bonds through cultural activities. Our 2022 grantees continue to bolster our city, emphasizing that shared experiences strengthen our communities and create networks of resiliency and joy.

We look forward to meeting more artists and arts groups this summer who are interested in connecting with their local communities and creating engaging artistic experiences for the public in 2023. This year, the our Manhattan Arts Grants will offer artists and arts organizations access to up to four sources of funding, opportunities to combine multiple grants for a single project, and one of LMCC’s largest overall regrant budgets in recent years. With more grants available, it is a great year to apply!

We welcome Manhattan-based artists, collectives, and organizations across artistic disciplines, practices, and backgrounds to apply to a Manhattan Arts Grants program for your 2023 project.

Throughout the summer, we will offer a full schedule of virtual and in-person information sessions, application labs and a Fundraising Fundamentals video series to share advice on preparing your strongest application, answer your questions, and brush up on your fundraising skills. New applicants and applicants who have not attended a Manhattan Arts Grants information session in 2019 or later are required to attend an interactive information session before applying.

LMCC's Creative Engagement and Creative Learning programs are supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature and private funds from the Howard Gilman Foundation.

UMEZ Arts Engagement Program funding is provided by the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation. The UMEZ Arts Engagement program is administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
