Welcoming the 2025 Arts Center Residency Cohort!

We are thrilled to welcome a new cohort of artists to LMCC’s Arts Center Residency at Governors Island!

A warm welcome to twenty incredible artists at The Arts Center at Governors Island, including one collective duo, seventeen individual artists, and our on-site assistant!

LMCC’s residency programs provide free, collaborative space for artistic development. This year’s cohort explores climate justice, sustainability, and urban ecology through painting, theater, VR, environmental science, and more.

For the first time, the residency will run for eight months, from March 3 to October 31, 2025, allowing artists more time to experiment and collaborate. They’ll participate in Open Studios, monthly gatherings, and partnerships with Earth Matter, Billion Oyster Project, and the New York Climate Exchange.
