We Are Seeking a Full-Time Workplace Associate!

LMCC Arts Center at Governors Island, Location: New York NY, Architect: Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Adamson Associates Architects

LMCC seeks a permanent full-time Workplace Associate to join immediately.

The Workplace Associate is an integral part of the Finance & Administration team working closely with the Executive Director, Finance & Administration in all activities involved in the facilities and equipment management for LMCC’s spaces. This individual will maintain vendor and customer relations for LMCC spaces, and assist in the coordination and logistics of equipment for staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as point of contact with landlord, building management and related vendors
  • Coordinates move-ins and move-outs and improvements of all spaces, including the Arts Center, our office at Maiden Lane, and satellite spaces.
  • Conducts regular space walk-throughs and check-ups to ensure cleanliness and appropriate and safe usage of all LMCC spaces and shared equipment
  • Schedules facilities maintenance, cleaning, repairs, inspections, improvements and security
  • Monitors, maintains and ensures building security, including risk management programs such as evacuation plans, fire drills, etc. and responds to emergency conditions such as floods, leaks, fires, etc.
  • Manages the orientation of satellite spaces and systems for new staff/interns and vendors as needed, and facilitates any required paperwork and forms
  • Works with IT team to troubleshoot and ensure smooth functioning of LMCC’s technology infrastructure, including its network, software, hardware, printers, phones and other tools
  • Assists in creating office procedures and systems and space use guidelines; and maintaining Office Guidelines Manual
  • Serves as support staff for organization-wide events as needed

Qualifications: Strong candidates for this position will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in art space, gallery or museum facilities maintenance

Non-profit organization experience preferred

  • Microsoft Office, Internet, Salesforce, Asana
  • General A/V equipment such as projectors, TVs, VCRs, DVD/CD players, Speakers, and other sound equipment
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and problem-solving skills.  Knowledge of practices, methods and equipment of facilitates management, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, monitoring and control systems
  • Working knowledge of IT systems and management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload and meet deadlines, as well as manage details while being graceful and diplomatic.
