UMEZ Arts Engagement Info Sessions
UMEZ Arts Engagement is a new grant program for public-facing arts projects or programming taking place in Upper Manhattan awarding uptown artists and arts organizations with funds of $1,000 to $10,000. The Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ), as funder of the initiative, is working in partnership with Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), who is administering the program.
UMEZ Arts Engagement invites proposals from artists and arts organizations that are 1) based in Upper Manhattan and 2) presenting arts projects or programming in Upper Manhattan between July 1–December 31, 2018. To be eligible, applicants must live and work in Inwood, Washington Heights, Harlem, or East Harlem.
LMCC will host two info sessions in the month for February for applicants to meet staff and ask questions. Attending a UMEZ Arts Engagement info session is required for ALL applicants in order to be eligible. Spanish interpretation available at all sessions.
