The 2022 River To River Festival Events This Week!

LMCC presents the 21st annual River To River Festival, Downtown New York City’s leading free summer arts festival from June 12–26, 2022.

Experience a dazzling and wide-ranging array of dance and musical performances, visual art installations, film, participatory processions, family events, and more, all by groundbreaking artists in NYC.

This year, festival artists look to nature, ritual, and metaphysical wonders to offer a hopeful perspective on the future of public space.

Tomorrow and on Wednesday, June 22-23 at 5:30 pm at Federal Hall join us at Nail Biter, a darkly beautiful dreamscape performance by Beth Gill. Although the performance is sold out, we welcome walk-ups! Arrive early to join the standby line. Due to limited capacity, entry is not guaranteed without a reservation.

On June 23 & June 25 at 7:30pm at La Plaza at The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center, we invite you to a  performance of keyon gaskin.

Lenticular Histories: South Street Seaport by Rose DeSiano is now on view at The Seaport (Water Street between Fulton Street and Beekman Street and on Front Street between Fulton Street and John Street at the Seaport) through June 29, 2022.

The musical performance BREATHE by Craig Harris will take place on June 25, at 4pm at Rockefeller Park, Battery Park City At the Pavilion in Rockefeller Park. (Enter from River Terrace near Chambers Street). BREATHE is the creation of trombonist/composer Craig Harris, who comes from a tradition of using art as a cultural facilitation to help promote change. BREATHE is performed by a large ensemble of musicians making a sonic statement in response to the long- term and current injustices inflicted upon African American people. BREATHE is offered to support the community in staying resilient and persistent in fighting for justice.

Finally yet importantly, duet/duet by Heather Kravas will take place on June 25 at 8pm and on June 26 at 3pm & 8pm at Studio A3 at The Arts Center at Governors Island.

All events are free and open to all. Due to limited capacity, some events require advance registration. RSVPs are now open! If you see that an in-person event is sold out online, don’t fret – we welcome walk-ups! Be sure to arrive early to join the standby line.
