Thank you for joining us at the 2024 River To River Festival!
We want to thank you for joining us at the 2024 River To River Festival!
What a joy it was to unite our artists and audience at The Arts Center at Governors Island and across Lower Manhattan's parks, buildings, and plazas during this year's River To River Festival!
Our 2024 festival was a spectacular showcase featuring breathtaking site-specific performances and public installations. LMCC’s Extended Life residents Miguel Gutierrez, jaamil olawale kosoko, Jesi Cook, Nattie Trogdon + Hollis Bartlett, NIC Kay, Kayla Hamilton, Kate Speer, mayfield brooks, Samita Sinha, and Leslie Cuyjet took us on incredible journeys exploring themes like our relationship with water and nature, the intersection of sound and body, and the power of queer identities and dance as avenues of resistance, reflection, and celebration.
At Open Studios, we witnessed the culmination of the 2023-2024 Workspace artist cohort’s work. John P. Hastings led us in a musical exploration of Battery Park City’s South Cove, while Billion Oyster Project’s storytellers shared exciting tales of their maritime adventures. And on the hottest day of the year, we cooled off with Elisabeth Smolarz’s delightful ice cream flavors inspired by her LMCC residency on Governors Island! It was a magical Festival, and we hope you’ll check out our 2024 Festival photo album here!
