LMCC’s longest running residency program, Workspace, is a nine-month studio-based program that focuses on the creative process and cohort development of emerging artists.
Workspace nurtures experimentation, creative risk taking, collaboration, learning and skill sharing through regular opportunities for dialogue with peers and arts professionals. Situated within donated office space each year, Workspace offers a unique opportunity to reimagine what it means to work in Lower Manhattan. Participating artists are provided round-the-clock access to semi-private studios spaces and are expected to engage with the cohort for the full duration of the nine-month program.
After a three year hiatus due to Covid, Workspace returned in the fall of 2022. Our newest and current cohort of artists includes Rachelle Dang, Sherese Francis, Caroline Garcia, Julia Izumi, Anu Jindal, Jessica Lagunas, nia love, Firoz Mahmud, Matthew Sandager, and David Wilson →
LMCC seeks to create a welcoming, diverse, and dynamic cohort of individuals working across disciplines, including but not limited to visual arts, film, performance art, social practice, design, digital media, and the literary arts. Applicants should review program offerings to determine applicability to their practice.
