Opportunity for artists and community members: Loisaida Center and Haus of Dust’s mural workshop!

Mural Painting Workshop

The Loisaida Center is seeking participants for Creativity and Collaboration Through Murals, a creative, community workshop presented by the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS), Loisaida Inc. and Haus of Dust.

What: In collaboration with MoRUS and Loisaida Inc., Haus of Dust is excited to host a mural painting workshop as a part of our workshop series. Participants will work together to design and create murals that will be inside Loisaida and part of the project. Facilitated by the design director of Dust, Dani, the murals will play a role in the immersive experience of the production and will welcome visitors into Dust Vanishes Away. The murals will be on display as both a fixture and product of the community and its engagement; a creative endeavor to last past the end of the project. All artists are welcome, no prior skills required.

When: November 1-November 7th. Participants will be divided into two groups of five, with the first group coming in for the morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second group coming in for an afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Where: Creativity and Collaboration Through Murals will take place at The Loisaida Center, located at 710 E 9th Street, New York, NY, 10009. The workshop will be in-person. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, with mandatory requirements of participants wearing a mask and taking their temperature upon arrival to Loisaida.
