LMCC is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2021 program guidelines and application forms for LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants: Creative EngagementCreative Learningand UMEZ Arts Engagement.

Three Programs, One Deadline: Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 5:00pm (EST)

In 2020, LMCC awarded over $1.5 million to 296 individual artists, collectives, and organizations to bring together thousands of artists and community members for shared experiences. While gathering in place has not been possible for most of this year, it’s been incredible to see the ways of gathering and connecting that our 2020 grantees have re-imagined and continued to create. We’ve never felt more excited to have such a breadth of cultural activity, creativity, and artistic exploration embedded in our neighborhoods and local communities. This moment has only reaffirmed our conviction that artists are essential to our city, arts and culture is essential to our learning, understanding, and belonging and public funding for the arts is essential. We are thrilled to play this small role in fortifying the vibrancy and diversity of every Manhattan block.

As we look to 2021 with both uncertainty and hope, we are eager to hear about the public art installations, performances on plazas and in parks, one-on-one and small group participatory projects, and online productions artists and arts groups are planning. We welcome Manhattan-based artists, collectives, and organizations across artistic disciplines, practices, and backgrounds to consider applying to a Manhattan Arts Grants program for your 2021 project.

Throughout the summer, we will offer a full schedule of virtual information sessions, office hours, and Fundraising Fundamentals workshops to share advice on preparing your strongest application, answer your questions, and brush up on your fundraising skills. New applicants are required to attend an interactive information session webinar before applying.
