LMCC Awards $1.3 million to 284 Artists and Arts Organizations!
We are excited to announce that this year, LMCC will award over $1,300,000 in direct funding through the Manhattan Arts Grants programs to 284 Manhattan-based artists and arts organizations!
LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants provide critical resources to Manhattan based-individual artists and arts organizations, supporting their efforts to engage audiences and communities with rich arts programming throughout the borough of Manhattan. In a year of challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards uphold the arts as essential to the health and livelihood of Manhattan’s neighborhoods.
As the largest re-grantor of public funds for the arts in New York City, LMCC has administered these critical resources for over 35 years. Funding is provided in collaboration with New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) in partnership with the City Council, New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), and Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ).
2021 grantees remain resourceful and imaginative as they continue to play an important role for their broader communities. We are proud to support the work of our artists as they engage with crucial social movements, reflect on the pandemic, and foster hope and connection in every corner of the borough.
