We are thrilled to announce that after a six month search, LMCC’s new President is Craig T. Peterson!

From the broad range of multidisciplinary projects presented to audiences throughout New York (and beyond), to his evident care and commitment working with artists and colleagues, Craig stands out as a leader with aspirations and capabilities most deeply aligned with LMCC.

He joins us from a dual role at Henry Street Settlement: Vice President for Visual and Performing Arts and Executive Artistic Director of Abrons Arts Center, a home for contemporary interdisciplinary arts in Manhattan’s vibrant Lower East Side neighborhood, where he has led programming and advocacy for diverse artist communities at Abrons’ multi-use arts space that housed educational programs, residencies, exhibitions and presentations. Craig has held leadership positions at Gibney and Dance Theater Workshop, and sits on the boards of MAP Fund, Big Dance Theater, and Artist Communities Alliance.

In 2023, LMCC will celebrate a half century as a cultural force in New York City and embark on a campaign to support The Arts Center’s next fifty years as a beacon of support for artists to create, gather and collaborate in one of NYC’s most unique environments.

Craig begins his role at LMCC in mid October. We are truly delighted that Craig will guide our next chapter serving artists and communities.
