As we are slowly wrapping up the 20th edition of River To River, Downtown New York City’s completely free summer arts festival here are the special moments we would like to share with you!
As part of the last performance of Processions, we welcomed Illustrious Blacks at Belvedere Plaza for their glorious and ethereal performance.
At The Clemente, nora chipaumire presented one completed scene from the longer opera, Nehanda. The performance designed as an immersive, participatory, and durational spectacle where participants can collectively perform and investigate the process of law-making and its crucial role in the European colonial project.
Mariana Valencia's Futurity presented at The Arts Center layered interpretive queerstories that converge in New York City and beyond.
And on the last day of the River To River 2021 festival, Maria Hassabi with her piece TOGETHER (2019) captivated the audience at Fosun Plaza by her distinct choreographic practice centered on the relation of the live body to the still image - defined by stillness, deceleration, and aesthetic precision.
