Highlights from the 2nd Annual Governors Island Winter Ice Sculpture at Governors Island!

Once again, we want to give a huge shoutout and a big thank you to everyone who joined us at the 2nd Annual Governors Island Winter Ice Sculpture Show. Your presence made the event even more special, and we were thrilled to see so many smiling faces braving the cold weather to appreciate the artistry on display!

Huge shoutout to 10 incredible artists, the majority of whom had never worked with ice before, and ice experts from Okamoto Studio! The following awards were selected by our jury, the artists, carvers, and the 3,000+ ice show attendees:

Most Ambitious: David Kirshoff, “The Whittler”
People’s Choice: Raul De Lara, “Señor Dog”
Carvers’ Choice: Ak Jansen, “Handmade”
Artists’ Choice: Phyllis Sanfiorenzo, “Old Gods Anew”
