Governors Island opens May 1 to welcome New Yorkers back to enjoy its beautiful open spaces and wide range of activities for all.

The Island is more accessible than ever this year with two weekend Brooklyn ferry routes from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Atlantic Basin in Red Hook, along with daily Manhattan ferry service from the Battery Maritime Building.

Ferries are free at all times for residents of NYCHA housing, children 12 and under, seniors 65 and up, current and former military servicemembers, and all IDNYC holders, as well as community organizations across the 5 boroughs.

Round trip ferry tickets cost $3 for all other adults. Ferries are free for all riders on weekends before noon. Ticket reservations are required.
