Matthew Sandager is a filmmaker, animator, story teller and photographer based in New York City. His critically acclaimed short films have been shown in film festivals around the world, and his still photography has been widely published and exhibited in galleries across the US.
Matthew’s new short film, ‘The Fountaineer’, has recently wrapped production and will debut in 2023. ‘The Fountaineer’ is produced, written and directed by Matthew, and is a fully stop motion animated film based on an original script. His previous films include ‘Dear Henri,’ which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2017 and went on to be shown in over 35 film festivals around the world, including Toronto International Film Festival Kids (TIFF KIDS). Matthew’s ongoing work for Sesame Street has led to several films for the long-running children’s television program, including ‘The Number Three’ and ‘Belly Breathe’
Matthew was born and raised in Minnesota.
