The Downtown Dinner is Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC)’s annual benefit. Each year, over 600 leaders of downtown’s business, civic, and cultural life come together to honor individuals who exemplify creativity, and a passionate commitment to our community. This year, in a room full of friends and colleagues, we will celebrate the changing face of Lower Manhattan and some of the most important “Downtowners” who inspire us all to strive to make a difference. We are proud to present the 2016 Liberty Award for Corporate Leadership to Frank Sciame and the 2016 Liberty Award for Artistic Leadership to Laurie Anderson.

For 40 years, Frank and Sciame Construction have brought many of New York’s most architecturally complex and beautiful designs to life, proving that construction is far more than just bricks and mortar. Additionally, as a long-time Board member and trusted advisor, Frank has been instrumental in planning LMCC’s expansion of the Arts Center at Governors Island.

Laurie Anderson is an electrifying composer, fearless performance artist, and pioneering director whose recent work with LMCC includes curating a series as part of River To River 2013. As a member of LMCC’s Arts Advisory Committee, Laurie demonstrates her support of the work that we do to empower artists who, like her, pioneer methods of exploring the world around us by inventing new technologies, art forms, and cross-disciplinary projects.

Reservations made before April 13 will guarantee inclusion in the printed program.
