Artist Residencies

LMCC’s Artist Residency programs redefine what it means to “work” in Lower Manhattan, respond directly to the immediate needs of the artistic community, and promote the creation, development, and presentation of exciting and innovative new work. These residencies are available to artists working in all disciplines to participate in via application or nomination processes. The studio space is located in temporarily donated spaces throughout Lower Manhattan and in our Arts Center at Governors Island. These programs are among the largest and most competitive programs in New York City and are free to participating artists.

LMCC’s Artist Residency programs currently include Workspace, Process Space, Extended Life, SU-CASA and the Paris Residency.

The programs provide studio space as well as significant career-advancement opportunities, which complement our Professional Development Programs and Public Engagement Initiatives.
