Emma Montoya Hills (she/her) is an arts administrator and cultural leader with over a decade of experience. Based in Brooklyn, she focuses on bringing ambitious artistic projects to life through robust organizational support. As Chief Operating Officer at LMCC, Emma drives strategic planning and operational execution to strengthen the organization’s infrastructure, expand programming, and broaden support for artists across New York City.
Her earlier career includes senior operations leadership at BRIC Arts Media as Director of Operations and at Theatre Row as General Manager, where she oversaw cross-functional teams and developed systems to advance institutional growth and operational effectiveness. She has also been an integral member of the operations and production teams at HERE Arts Center, Prototype Festival, Jujamcyn Theaters, and Steeldeck NYC.
Grounded in her personal practice as a visual artist and a background in the performing arts, Emma brings a creative yet practical sensibility to her work. She is committed to the belief that art is fundamental to building strong, connected communities. At the heart of her work, Emma brings the conviction that resilient cultural institutions are essential to a thriving ecosystem where artists can flourish.
Emma holds a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University, with a concentration in placemaking and the role of cultural expression in civic life.
