Workshop: Block Printing, With Love from Rajasthan

Remake your clothes into exciting new favorites in this drop in workshop using traditional Rajasthani wooden blocks as well as modern designs carved by artisans in Bagru, a small Rajasthani village dedicated to textiles and the art of block printing.

With Love from Rajasthan
is a block printing workshop presented by IXV coffee with Studio Bagru from Jaipur, India. Remake your clothes into exciting new favorites using our traditional Rajasthani wooden blocks as well as modern designs carved by artisans in Bagru, a small Rajasthani village dedicated to textiles and the art of block printing.

A short video of the life and craft of Bagru will be available to view. With some guidance and demonstration of the ancient craft, the viewer is invited to adapt the technique to present day and transform your own clothes with pattern and color.  With assistance from Remade in Brooklyn, we will help you fall in love with your clothes again (or maybe just hide a spot ;-)) using this luscious, heritage print technique that brings clothes back to life.

About IXV coffee

IXV coffee was created by Jenny Cooper, who after several decades in the garment industry, decided not to contribute further to the vast supply of clothing in the world but rather to remake what already exists, using discarded workwear and men’s shirts to create colorful and unusual versions of the classics we are so familiar with and will always love.

The IXV coffee shop is an easy extension of that mindset, producing only the grounds and a drink that is sourced by Counter Culture Coffee at the farmer level. It operates as close to ‘no waste’ as possible, enabling customers to carry re-usables and employing a surcharge to discourage single use cups.
