Artemio Leclerc-Jones was raised in Los Angeles, CA by a family of artists and educators. He
grew up with an appreciation for public art and the importance of accessible arts education for
local and global communities. Before joining LMCC, Artemio began his career in the non-profit
world at his hometown literary and arts organization, Beyond Baroque, where he assisted with
their fundraising and event programming needs and helped facilitate their transition to a digital
landscape during the COVID-19 pandemic. Artemio holds a B.A. in English Studies with a
Concentration in Creative Writing from Wesleyan University where he developed his passion
for writing and storytelling, something he continues to nurture in his free time.
