Vampire Cowboys is a Brooklyn-based arts trio comprised of artists, Abby Marcus, Qui Nguyen and Robert Ross Parker. Vampire Cowboys create and produce original, genre-bending action theatre with a comic book aesthetic.
Vampire Cowboys productions in New York City have included Vampire Cowboy Trilogy (2004); A Beginner’s Guide to Decide (2005); Living Dead in Denmark (2006); Men of Steel (2007); Fight Girl Battle World (2008); Soul Samurai (2009); Alice in Slasherland (2010); and The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G (2011 –2012). Early drafts of new projects can be seen at ‘First Bite’ workshops and at the episodic-theater, Saturday Night Saloon. NYtheatre.com named vampire Cowboys ‘People of the Year’ (2004). They are recipients of the NY Innovative Theatre Awards’ (2006); the Caffe Cino Fellowship; and an OBIE (2010).
Their upcoming performances include Six Rounds of Vengeance, New Ohio Theatre, New York City (2015). They were artists-in-residence at New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theatre, New York City (2014, 2015) and Swing Space, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (2012). Marcus received a B.A. from Ithaca College and an M.A from New York University. Nguyen received a B.A. from Louisiana Tech University and an M.F.A. from Ohio University. Parker received a B.F.A. from Concordia University and an M.F.A. from Ohio University.
