Sol Aramendi is a New York-based community connector as well as an artist and educator. Her exhibitions include Whisper or Shout: Artist in the Social Sphere, BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn, NY (2016); The People’s Immigrant Workers Assembly, Queens Museum, Queens, NY (2015); and Queens Expanded, Queens Museum, Queens, NY (2015). Her awards include the A Blade of Grass Fellowship for Socially Engaged Art, New York, NY (2015 – 2016); the Immigrant Civic Leadership Fellowship, Coro New York Leadership Center and the Major’s Office of Immigrants Affairs, New York, NY (2015); and the Smithsonian Latino Museum Studies Fellowship, Smithsonian Latino Center, Washington DC (2012). She received an M.A. in Architecture and Design from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina (1996) and an M.F.A. in Socially Engaged Art from Queens College, CUNY, New York (2013). She also studied Studio Photography at the International Center of Photography, New York, NY (2010) and Art Direction and Photography from the Film Academy, TEBA Foundation, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2002).
