Shingo Francis (b. 1969) is a Brooklyn-based artist born in California who is interested in the history of abstraction in art. Francis has had several solo exhibitions including Kaleidoscope, Lobby Gallery organized by The Durst Organization and Chashama, NY (2013); Bound for Eternity, The Bogart Salon, Brooklyn, NY (2012); and Shingo Francis: Solo Project, ARCO Art fair Madrid, Spain (2008). He has also participated in a variety of group exhibitions, including The Unseen Relationship: Form and Abstraction, Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art, Japan (2012); Mirrors of Continuous Change, Ilju & Seonhwa Gallery, Seoul, South Korea (2010); and Ties over time: Japanese Artists and America, Residence of the U.S. ambassador to Japan, Tokyo, Japan (2009).

Francis has participated in the following residency programs: Artist in Residency, BankART NYK, Yokohama (2013); Mitte’s Artist in Residency for Modern Art, MARMA Berlin, Germany (2012); and Lucas Artists Residency Program, Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, California (2009). He received his B.F.A. from Pitzer College and attended the Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy.
