Seldon Yuan (b.1975) is a Brooklyn-based artist born in New York, NY. Combining poetry, visual and conceptual art, Yuan activates the act of reading and plays between image/object and language.
His work has appeared in group exhibitions including Second AIM Biennial, Bronx Museum of Art, Bronx, NY (2013); Emerging Artist Fellowship exhibition, Socrates Sculpture Park, Queens, NY (2012); Seeing & Remembering: Portraits and Their Stories, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Cedar Rapids, IA (2011); and Poor Services, La Générale en Manufacture, Paris, France (2008). His awards and residencies include Wave Hill Winter Work Space Residency, Riverdale, NY (2015); Le Leé, Metz, France (2014); and Center for Book Arts Artist Residency, New York, NY (2014). He received his B.A. at Carnegie Mellon University, Beaux-arts de Paris L’école Nationale Supérieure and an M.F.A. in Visual Arts from Hunter College.
