plai theatre (Performers Linked by Able Imaginations) brings quality dramatic experiences to people with special needs, promoting the idea that every person is intelligent, has an able imagination and that the imagination creates a unique individual worthy of expressing themselves to others.  plai theatre’s goals are the creation of a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, creation of dramatic performances involving performers with special needs and the formation of new relationships/friendships for the participants within each project, activity and workshop.  plai theatre uses the dramatic arts as a healing tool, an outlet of expression, and a safe environment to create new friendships and the opportunity to explore the independence that can be found in playing.  plai theatre’s staff includes professional theatre artists as well as certified Creative Arts Therapists with specialties in dance, music, art and drama.

plai theatre has partnered with YAI, NAC, Gigi’s Playhouse, Birch Family Services, Edwin Gould and The Child’s Place at the Brooklyn Public Library to create unique programming for people with special needs of all ages.
