Mike Clemow (b. 1979) is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Long Island, NY. His practice is grounded in the act of listening and his work is manifested in performances and installations using sound and objects, often dealing with concepts of site and history. His performances and installations include Tabaci Memoriae, Mana Contemporary (2017); Mirage (for field recordings and four speakers), Mana Contemporary (2016); and Analemma (octophonic composition with JP Schlegelmilch) NYC Electro-acoustic Music Festival at Abrons Art Center (2016). Clemow is a recipient of the LabVerde Residency, Manaus, Brazil (2017); Mana BSMT, Mana Contemporary, Jersey City, NJ (2016-2017); Sonic Mmabolela Field Recording Residency, Limpopo, South Africa (2013, 2015). Clemow holds a BA in Philosophy from Ithaca College and an MPS from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).
