Maggie Low is a New York-based actress and host of Play With Your Dinner, a relaxed convivial venue for playwrights, actors, directors, audience, and community to participate in the process of bringing a play from the page to the stage. Drawing on her life in the theater and restaurants, Low curates each reading by gathering a new group of theater artists and community members for one rehearsal and a public reading at Coogan’s, a Washington Heights institution.

Guest artists have included local luminaries from Up Theater Co., Bread and Yoga, and recognized character actors from shows such as Oz and Orange is the New Black. Low has directed Suzanne Bradbeer’s, The Roof at the Blue Collar Theater Co.; Lee Blessing’s Two Rooms at the Theater for the New City; and Tom Gilroy’s We Are the Champions (Machine Full). She has acted in off Broadway, off-off, and regional plays including participating in the original casts of Catholic School Girls, Candle In the Window, Times Of War, The Big Vig, and Kerrie and Angie. She played Gertrude in Hamlet with Jared Harris. Her feature films and television appearances include The Cold Lands, Postcards from America, and Deborah Sampson. She was a guest lead on Law and Order. Low currently teaches at Maggie Low Studio and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Low taught at Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU for 15 years. She is a Lifetime member of the Actors Studio.
