Laura Caparroti is a New York-based theatrical artist. After ten years of professional theatre in Italy, she relocated to New York, where she has directed and performed at The Kitchen, The Fringe Festival, The Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center, the cell, The Flea Theater, and Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimo. She is member of the Director’s Lab at Lincoln Center, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and the League of Professional Theater Women. As the founder and artistic director of Kairos Italy Theater (KIT), her mission is to spread knowledge and bring wider recognition of Italian culture through live theatrical performance and cultural events. Her theater is simple, communicative, actor-based, and is presented in both English and Italian. Caparrotti established In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY and World Wide Lab – a collective of 12 directors from nine countries who convene annually to create theater. Laura has a Masters degree in Performing Arts, Cinema and Theatre History from the University La Sapienza in Rome.
