Larissa Lury is a New York-based artist born in New Jersey. Lury is a director and collaborative theatre artist with a movement and acrobatic background.

She takes a multi-disciplinary approach, drawing upon different tools for each project at hand. She works with Pearl Rhein and The Persephone Project collaborators. Their collaborative works include GROUNDED, George Brant, Southern Repertory Theatre, New Orleans, LA (2016); IN THE TIME OF THE BUTTERFLIES, adapted by Caridad Svich from the original novel by Julia Alvarez, American Southwest Theatre Company, Las Cruces, NM (2016); and SMALL PROPHECIES, David Myers, UC San Diego, CA (2011), which was nominated for San Diego Critics Circle Craig Noel Award.

Lury’s awards and residencies include New Georges Audrey Residency, New York, NY (2016-17); National Directors Fellowship (2015-16); and Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab (2014). She received her B.S. from Northwestern University and her M.F.A. from University of California, San Diego.
