“This free fest sheds light on all that Harlem has to offer. Go on a gallery walk, create arts and crafts with the kids, and watch vibrant Harlem-based music, dance, and theater groups take the stage.” – NY Daily News, Ultimate Summer Guide, June 17, 2012, Michael Menna

Harlem Arts Festival (HAF) is a New York-based community initiative. It is committed to community involvement and creates artistic programs and partnerships with surrounding organizations, businesses, and individuals to protect the cultural legacy of Harlem, increase park usage, and connect the public to the arts in new and engaging ways. Its programs include a multidisciplinary arts festival held in Marcus Garvey Park, workshops at schools, smaller intimate performance entitles “HAF Sessions”, and an annual gala. HAF has garnered press from media outlets such as CBS, ABC, The New York Times, Time Out New York, The New York Daily News, The Village Voice, Flavorpill, and more. HAF Session series, exhibitions, and workshops in schools, have become staples in the community. They aim to support year-round programming, artist residencies, and regular showcases to the general public.
