Eiko Otake is a New York-based and Japanese-born dancer and choreographer. Using her body as a conduit that connects radically different places, Eiko performs alone to accentuate both the environment and different kinds of people: those who watch eagerly, those who ignore, and those who fall somewhere in between. Her performances include PLATFORM 2016: A Body in Places, Danspace Project, New York, NY (2016; A Body in a Station, Amtrak 30th Street Station, Philadelphia, PA (2014) and A Body in a Station, River To River Festival, New York, NY (2015). Her publications include Time Is Not Even, Space Is Not Empty, Ed. Joan Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2011). Her awards include the American Dance Festival Award (2014), the United States Artists Fellowship (2006) and the Dance Magazine Award (2006).
