Developing Artists (DA) is a New York-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for underdog teens to reach their full potential through a practical application of the performing arts. DA was established in 1999 to address the shortage of places for young artists in the New York metropolitan area to receive affordable, top-notch performing arts training. DA’s main goals are to provide young artists with the highest level of performing arts training and to create a young artist community. DA offers several classes throughout the year for students 13 – 19 years old. With training in fundamental theatre technique and workshops in various styles of performing arts – singing, dance, spoken word, rap, and more – students work together to create an original piece which is presented at the end of each session. DA’s works includes REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival and The Artivism Project.

DA provides opportunities not only for young artists to see each other’s work, but to learn from and build a community of their peers.
